Saturday’s racing tips

Rosehill Race 6 # 11 Sasa
Filly of immense potential which was realised last start when she was only beaten 1 length in the Golden Rose by the likes of Toorak Toff, Squamosa and Ilovethiscity. The most interesting stats to come from that particular race were the sectionals. They went quick, really quick and the results reflected that as the winner came from 12th at the turn, Ilovethiscity 14th etc. The only on-pacers to hold on were Decision Time who won last week, Squamosa who hasn’t raced since and Sasa. The step up to 1800m tomorrow is favourable. The danger is Reem who was brilliant given the slow tempo in More Strawberries’ race last week.

Having said that, Hay List was impressive, the sections weren’t and I’m still not prepared to say that this is anywhere near the best sprinter we have in the country at this stage. Let’s wait and see what happens when it gets to Group 1 level.
